Sorry I have been away but I am now comfortably resting in my new apartment in Chicago! I love it and Keith and I are settling in quite nicely. I will post more about that when we are fully settled. Until then- a quick post about a new treat we discovered on our vacation
Keith and I went to Mackinac Island with my family. I love the Island, and really think of it as my home. We got engaged on the island, I lived on the island and I spent my childhood visiting the island. I know every inch of it. We met up with friends and went to a favorite for drinks and I found this on the menu: adult rootbeer float. I have to say- I was pretty stoked.
It was so good I wanted to make it at home. So I did!
Add 1.5 ounces of whipped cream vodka over ice. Fill cup with rootbeer and add a splash of cream. Delicious.
Enjoy and drink responsibly. I will post again soon!

Recipe: Wine Float
My friend and I joke about making wine spritzers all the time with pop added to wine. Usually I add a lemon-lime soda to my red wine to cut it and to bring up a white I like a flavorful pop, like a berry. So when Megan came over, we decided to try out some wine floats.
You need a sweet pop, we picked strawberry, vanilla ice cream and a white wine, we picked moscato. I supplied the cups and Meg supplies the cute straws!
Ice cream first! Delicious. Then add a little bit of pop. Not too much or no wine will fit in! Then fill the rest of the way with the wine.
Delicious. Enjoy responsibly.

Recipe: The Barbara
So, Keith is a busy man. This week our first night with any time together, Wednesday, I came home and needed to go to the doctors right away about my knee which has been acting up. After 2 hours and x-rays, we found out my injuries are not too serious, but need to be looked after. But number one, is stay off it as much as possible and take some medicine I got. There's no drinking on my pills, and usually Keith and I unwind with drinks on Friday and catch up. It's like a date night at our apartment. So, instead I made him a drink to try out. This drink is called the Barbara. I found the recipe while searching for 1920s cocktails.
- 1 and 1/2 oz of vodka
- 3/4 oz of creme de cacao
- 3/4 heavy cream
enjoy.

Red Hot Chata Drink Recipe
I haven't posted for a week. That is my fault, I got sidelined by Keith's birthday and various other projects. I am trying to finish up summer projects and getting ready to tie the knot in mid September, so things can be a bit hectic. So, I decided to write a quick recipe post for a delicious drink that we discovered. This recipe is something I picked up a few weeks ago. I made one for Keith and he really liked it. It's a cinnamon based drink. Okay, ready?
We are still figuring this blog out, so please hang with us while our photos and recipes improve. I hope you like our first one. It's pretty delicious, however drink responsibly.
First off, gather your supplies. For this drink recipe you will need ice, a shaker, cocktail cup, and ground cinnamon. You will also need a horchata flavored drink- Rum Chata in our case. And a cinnamon whiskey drink- Fireball in our case.
Place a few ice cubes in the shaker. Then mix in the whiskey and the horchata drink. We put in a ratio of 1 shot of whiskey for two of the horchata. The whiskey's coloring make it a weird color until its mixed...
But the lid on your shaker and shake well. Please don't mind the bad nail painting job, or the nerdy shaker.
Place a few ice cubes in your favorite cocktail glass. I got this one for Keith awhile ago. Anyway, back on topic, strain the drink with your shaker and pour into cup.
Sprinkle come ground cinnamon on top. and finally, ENJOY!
